HB Learning is a brand new training and reference resource that has been developed specifically for local authorities to help train and develop people working in housing benefit and council tax benefit.
Who has developed HB Learning?
HB Learning has been developed as a National Product initiative and funded through the DWP´s performance standards fund. It was jointly developed by South Bucks DC and Capita APT. HB Learning uses technology developed by e-learning specialists Skillwise UK.
How do I make HB Learning available to my claims staff?
Your staff can access HB Learning straight away by visiting www.hblearning.com. They can take a brief tour of the training material, register for the full course content and sign-up for the e-mail alerts service. A user pack is also available for your authority to tell your people more about HB Learning and how it works.
How much does HB Learning cost?
HB Learning is available to all staff at your authority on a subscription basis. Please use the contact us page If you would like further details of the subscription costs for your Local Authority or organisation.
How often is the information updated?
HB Learning is a live site and is updated regularly to reflect the very latest changes in HB and CTB legislation. This means that you can be confident that your people are accessing the most up-to-date training and reference material.
What is the alert-by-e-mail service?
This is an innovative new service and is unique to HB Learning. Users simply register their details and they will receive notification of changes to HB and CTB legislation along with incisive interpretation and commentary on the changes from Capita APT.
Where can I get technical help?
All technical aspects of the course and the HB Learning web site are managed by Capita APT. They can be contacted through the contacts page.
Can I share this course with my colleagues?
Yes, absolutely. The course has been designed to help claims staff at all levels from new starters looking to gain an introduction to HB and CTB through to experienced claims staff and managers looking to keep abreast of changes in legislation.
Can I set up my staff so that they can access HB Learning
Yes you can. You need to apply to become an E-learning Administrator. You can do this from the Course Administration page.
